Our passion for property began with our first investment purchase in 2004 for $183,000. On recently selling this newly renovated property for $353,000 we made $117,000 capital gains, plus $53, 000 extra from the renovations. We are Arna and Leigh and we have to thank Mark Rolton.

As a young couple in our early thirties, with two beautiful children, we had to dream big to make our property dreams a reality. We always wanted to learn more about property and this opportunity lead us to attend Mark Rolton’s Real Estate University. Through the fantastic home study kit and 3 Day live workshop, Mark showed us how to look at property from every possible angle and strategy and how to make a profit regardless of the market.

This lead us to our first property investment purchase in a growth area in South East Queensland. As you can see from the photos, the place wasn't a palace. After speaking with agents prior to renovating, they told us at best we could get $280K for the house. We listened closely to Mark’s strategies for renovating, setting ourselves a budget of $20,000 we left the weekend feeling inspired to give it a go.

With thanks to the brilliant advice from Mark about dual exclusive real estate agents we sold our property for $353,000. With the vision of Mark and the group at Massland our efforts had been rewarded generously. We were so grateful for having attended Real Estate University. Our perspective on property was shifted to a greater picture; our motivation for learning was out of this world! Our next project will include Mark's Splitters or Strata Titling Property Strategies, however, we will not be purchasing the property ourselves but take Mark's risk free alternative with property options.

We started out with a small investment property in a growth area in south east Queensland and a model renovation budget. After attending Real Estate University and learning as much as possible about property renovation strategies we believed we had acquired the knowledge and strategies from Mark in order to more forward successfully. We were confident we could make profit right from the beginning.

Because our property was a solid structure on a small block of land in a suburban area, it seemed to make sense that renovating was the best strategy. However, we needed a renovation plan that would increase sale price without blowing our budget while making drastic cosmetic changes at the same time. Real Estate University taught us the importance of numbers in real estate. In our case it was renovations verse profit. Our resulting numbers have us excited to get started on our next project!
